Overview

Your outsourced IT department

Break-fix support only reacts once something’s already gone wrong. Managed support prevents issues and keeps your business moving.

WhizzIT becomes your outsourced IT team: unlimited service desk, proactive monitoring, endpoint protection and cyber security, all wrapped into one predictable monthly service.

Managed support covers your users, devices and infrastructure continuously rather than ticket by ticket, with proactive monitoring running underneath so problems are picked up before somebody reports them. We are a team of five engineers supporting more than 30 UK businesses, from two-user teams to organisations of 150+ users. WhizzIT is Cyber Essentials certified and a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider, so our security fundamentals are independently assessed rather than simply claimed. It is priced per user at a fixed monthly cost rather than bundled into rigid packages, so it scales with your team.

Straight answer

What unlimited actually means

Unlimited is a word worth pinning down before you sign anything, because plenty of providers use it and then quietly meter you. For us it means unlimited support requests. If your team needs help, they ask, however often that turns out to be. Nobody is counting tickets and nobody gets a bill at the end of the month for asking too many questions.

Proactive, in practice

What proactive actually looks like

It is an easy word to say. Here is what it means in a normal month.

  1. Monitoring that acts

Agents on your machines and servers report disk space, failing drives, missed backups, dropped services and security alerts. Thresholds create a ticket automatically, so the common ones get dealt with before anybody notices, rather than sitting on a dashboard nobody has open.

  2. Patching on a schedule

Operating systems and third-party applications are updated on a defined cadence rather than whenever a user finally clicks the reminder. Unpatched software is still the most common way in, and patch management is one of the five Cyber Essentials controls for exactly that reason.

  3. Assets and licences reviewed

We keep a live picture of what you own, how old it is and what it costs. That is how you avoid the two classic wastes: paying for subscriptions nobody uses, and running critical work on a machine that should have been replaced two years ago.

Response

What happens when you raise something

Every request lands in the same place and gets graded P1 to P5. A P1 is reserved for something that stops the business, like a total outage or a dead server, and gets immediate attention. Lower priorities still carry a committed response time, so nothing quietly rots at the bottom of a queue.

Included every month

  • Unlimited remote service desk by phone and ticket
  • Proactive monitoring with automatic ticket creation
  • Patch management for operating systems and apps
  • Managed endpoint protection
  • Asset and licence register kept current
  • Onsite engineer visits when needed
  1. Response times in practice

We’ll respond the same working day, and most issues are resolved on that first contact. When something genuinely needs hands on the hardware, one of our field engineers travels to you and we aim to be with you the same working day.

  2. People who already know your setup

We deliberately keep our client list small rather than running thousands of accounts, which means the person picking up your ticket has probably worked on your systems before and does not need the whole history explaining again.

What is managed IT support?

We act as your IT department for a fixed monthly fee. That covers an unlimited service desk, proactive monitoring, patching, endpoint security and onsite visits when something needs hands on it. The point is that most problems get caught or fixed before they interrupt anyone.

How is it different from break-fix?

Break-fix pays someone to turn up after it has already gone wrong, which means your costs are unpredictable and your provider only earns when you have problems. Managed support inverts that. We are paid the same whether your month is quiet or chaotic, so we have every reason to make it quiet.

What does unlimited actually include?

Unlimited support requests. Ask as often as you need, with no per-ticket charging. Project work is scoped separately, because migrations, office moves and large rollouts are a different kind of job. Hardware and licences are yours, though we procure and manage them for you.

Is it suitable for smaller teams?

Yes, and small teams often feel the benefit fastest, because there is nobody internally who can absorb an IT problem. The scope is matched to your size, so you are not paying for enterprise processes you will never use.

Can you work alongside our existing IT person?

Often that is the best arrangement. We take the day-to-day tickets, monitoring and patching so they can concentrate on the things only they can do, or we sit behind them as escalation and holiday cover. Either way they stop being the single point of failure.

How does onboarding work?

We assess what you have and what the business actually needs, agree a support plan, deploy the tooling we use for remote support, monitoring and patching, then go live. You get a named point of contact rather than a ticket portal and a shrug.

Brands we partner with

We hold partner status with the vendors behind the tools we deploy, so your licensing, support and escalation come direct from the source rather than through a reseller chain.
