Overview

Connectivity you can count on

When your internet drops, so does your business, cloud apps, email, phones and card payments all rely on it. A single connection with no backup is a single point of failure.

WhizzIT sources and manages the right connectivity for each site, adds automatic failover, and uses SD-WAN to intelligently route traffic across links, so you get resilient, prioritised, always-on connectivity you don't have to think about.

What's included

  • Leased lines and business broadband
  • 4G/5G automatic failover
  • SD-WAN for intelligent, resilient routing
  • Multi-site and branch connectivity
  • Traffic prioritisation (QoS) for voice and cloud
  • Monitoring and managed support
How resilience actually works

Two lines are not resilience if they share a duct

Buying a second connection feels like buying resilience, and often is not. If both circuits run from the same exchange, along the same route, or terminate on the same piece of your equipment, one contractor with a digger takes out both. Diversity has to be designed rather than assumed.

Genuine resilience means the two services do not share a failure point: different providers where possible, physically different routes into the building, and separate terminating equipment. Where a truly diverse fixed route is not available at a site, 4G or 5G backup gives you a path that fails independently by definition, because it does not use the ground at all.

The value is in how fast and how quietly the switch happens. A failover that drops every call and every session is better than an outage, but only just. SD-WAN monitors the health of each path continuously and moves traffic when a link degrades, not only when it dies completely, which matters because slow and lossy is more common than fully down.

A voice call is ruined by 100ms of jitter that a file upload would never notice. Policy-based routing lets you put real-time traffic on the most stable path and bulk transfers on the cheaper one, and change that automatically when conditions shift. This is the part that a straight second line cannot do at all.

Most sites that feel slow are not short of bandwidth. They are suffering from contention at peak times, a saturated upload path, or one backup job running in business hours. Measuring before upgrading usually costs less than upgrading, and sometimes shows the circuit was never the constraint.

Contracts and practicalities

Lead times decide project dates more often than budgets

New fixed circuits are quoted in weeks and occasionally months, particularly where a new fibre build or a wayleave from a landlord is involved. Anyone planning a move, a fit-out or a new site should start connectivity first and everything else around it, because it is the one element that cannot be compressed by working harder.

We source and manage the circuits rather than leaving you to hold the carrier relationship, so a fault is our call to make and chase. Connectivity sits alongside managed firewall at the network edge, and the monitoring that proves a link is degrading is covered by network monitoring.

How we help

What we deliver

01

Connect

We source and install the right primary connectivity for each of your sites.

02

Optimise

SD-WAN and QoS route and prioritise traffic so critical apps and calls stay smooth.

03

Protect

Automatic failover keeps you online if a line goes down, with everything monitored.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

SD-WAN (software-defined WAN) intelligently manages and routes traffic across multiple internet connections and sites, improving resilience and performance and prioritising business-critical applications.
With automatic failover, for example to a second line or 4G/5G, your connectivity switches over automatically, keeping you online while the primary line is restored.
Yes. We design and manage secure, reliable connectivity between your sites so they work as one network, with central management and monitoring.
Yes. We source leased lines and business broadband on your behalf, then configure and manage the whole connectivity setup as a single service.
